Tips before your trip - PLEASE READ

LD. 2224 An Act to Strengthen Public Safety by Improving Maine's Firearm Laws and Mental Health System. This will require background checks on ALL advertised firearms sales (such as Uncle Henry's or other online or newspaper ads). See the FFL TRANSFERS PAGE for more info. This legislation takes effect on August 9th 2024.

LD 2238 "An Act to Address Gun Violence in Maine by Requiring a 72 Hour Waiting Period for Certain Firearm Purchases"

- If you show up right at the time I am supposed to open and I am not open yet be patient and wait 5 minutes. It is not uncommon for me to open 5 or 10 minutes late.
- Things come up I cannot control (such as a trace from the ATF, taking care of shipments that just got dropped off, or other important matter).
- I do not open until I am ready to serve customers.
- I have cameras and sensors so I know you are there. DO NOT USE THE DOOR BELL

- If you are coming to purchase or transfer a firearm please be here 30 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING, For Example be here BY 4:30PM weekdays if I close at 5:00pm (hours depending on seasonal or SPECIAL hours. See hours below)
- Remember a sale or transfer can take 15-45min depending on many factors including the time it takes to process the background check which could take 15min up to 45min (if your background check goes to further review I have seen waits as long as 45min) depending on how busy they are.
- This does not include you choosing a firearm and doing the paperwork.
- Please come atleast 30min before closing.

- I WILL STOP SERVING CUSTOMERS ONCE IT IS CLOSING TIME.
- It can take up to 15 to 45 minutes to process a single firearms transaction.
- If it is 30 minutes before closing and I am helping another customer(s) I probably won't get to you, Sorry. If someone is buying multilple guns and accessories that could take a lot more time 45 minutes to an hour so I could close 30 minutes early even if the parking lot is full.

- CURRENT VALID MAINE CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT WITH YOUR CURRENT PHYSICAL ADDRESS ON IT (Must have photo).
NO PO BOXES ACCEPTED.
NO MAIL OR BILLS ACCEPTED AS PROOF OF ADDRESS. ID'S MUST BE WHAT IS LISTED ABOVE.

- BRING CASH to save UP TO 4% on your firearm purchase. Don't forget the added 5.5% sales tax.

- If you are coming to get a quote on a firearm or special order a firearm make sure you have cash with you so you can pay up front and get the cash discounted price. Assuming you want to order the firearm.

FYI - Some mornings I may open 15-30 min late due to processing of firearms. Our shipments come very late, sometimes after we close. So please check here or Google (Google should be the first choice) as we will try to post to atleast one or all if we are opening late or have changes in hours. Usually Google https://g.page/mainegundealer is the best place to look.

STORMS - Some mornings I may open late due to SNOW STORMS I maintain my own driveway so I will be behind due to plowing. I will post hour changes on Google and the website if there are any changes in hours. Google is best. I will be plowing during the day when there is a snow storm. I will be closed when I am plowing the driveway which could be at anytime. It can take a half hour to an hour to plow using my ATV. I will not open until I am completely done plowing. I cannot have customers and delivery vehicles stuck in the driveway because I stopped in the middle of plowing. Sometimes I will close during a snow or ice storm if the driveway is bad and not safe or not passable. Always check this page and Google before making the trip.

If you arrive and we are closed look at the sign on the door for expected opening time which may be off by a few minutes. (See Below)

Changes in hours: See this page, the News and Updates Page, Facebook, X, or Google https://g.page/mainegundealer. Circumstances beyond our control can happen that may cause us to open late or close early. Google is usually best place to look.

Unexpected closure (not a normal occurrence) - IF FOR SOME REASON I AM CLOSED WHEN YOU GET HERE. CHECK THIS SIGN ON THE DOOR FOR MY TIME OF RETURN. I might be back a little sooner or later than the time posted. I might be in the shop but I may have something that came up that does not allow me to wait on customers (computer issues, bathroom break, family emergency, gone to the house to get lunch ....) and since I am a firearms dealer I must be 100% available in the retail area for the door to be unlocked and the sign to show open. I have no one to take my place or cover for me. If the sign on the door shows closed the door will be locked. I have a security system with cameras and I will know you are there but I will not open until around the time shown on the door sign. I cannot open until I am ready to handle the retail flow. I have customers that drive in and see the sign shows closed but they to not realize the time is posted on the door and I might be only closed for a few minutes. This is not a normal occurrence but I did want to mention it.
